City Manager Anali Alanis serves our city backed with 15+ years of experience in all levels of public sector with a concentration in human resources and organizational management.
Alanis started her career in the City of Pharr in 2007 and has grown in different capacities like Human Resources Coordinator, Human Resources Director, Civil Service Director, and Assistant City Manager.
In 2016, Alanis earned her Master’s Degree in Public Administration from The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
She uses her experience and education as the driving force to help lead the city. Some of her contributions to Pharr include establishing the Human Resources Department and many employee engagement initiatives. Alanis has been at the forefront of key projects that have contributed to take the City of Pharr to the next level. She leads with our organizational culture at heart, Excellence Every Day!

It’s not goodbye, it’s see you later! We would like to thank our Winter Texans for choosing the City of Pharr as their “home away from home” every year. Today we held a luncheon to show our appreciation and wish those traveling back north a safe trip. We can’t wait to see your smiling faces again!

Today Matt's Building Materials stopped by Pharr Fire Rescue Station #2 and made a donation to the Fire Victims account. This account was created in partnership with Matt's to benefit victims of fire disasters. The total amount donated was $7,017.
Thank you to Matt's for this donation and continuing to do good for the community even after suffering a fire of their own.

Today we continue with Commissioner Itza Flores!![]()
Itza Flores is currently the only woman on the Board of Commissioners for the City of Pharr. She is a proud daughter, mother, and wife. She and her husband have been married for 26 years and have four children. Itza is a longtime educator serving as the Special Education Director at a nearby school district and teaches at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley. She is also a member of the House of Delegates for the Texas Council of Administrators of Special Education. Itza says the second most rewarding opportunity she’s had, after being a mother, is being a commissioner for the City of Pharr.
